Garnet Gerwin

Services for Garnet L. (Maple) Gerwin, 95, of Willoughby, a homemaker, will be at 10:30 AM Monday, April 9, 2012 at Nottingham Baptist Church, 2921 Bishop Road, Willoughby Hills. Mrs. Gerwin passed away Monday, April 2, 2012 at Fairmount Health Center in Willoughby. Born January 28, 1917 in New Boston, Ohio, she was a longtime Kirtland resident before moving to Breckenridge Village in Willoughby six years ago. She was longtime, active member of Nottingham Baptist Church where she served as the secretary of the Sunday School for 40 years. She was also an avid seamstress. She is survived by her son, David Gerwin of Fayetteville, GA and daughter, Lois Gerwin of Willoughby. She also leaves four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and their families. Her husband of 69 years, Elmer W. Gerwin, passed away February 28, 2010. Her daughter, Ruth Ann Gerwin, parents, Clarence Edward and Lila Verna (Smith) Maple; brothers, Carl and Howard Maple and sister, Charlotte Graham are also deceased.
