Gary James Nerone 

February 11, 1957 – October 27, 2026 

A gathering to celebrate the life of Gary James Nerone, 69, will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio. 

Gary passed away unexpectedly on October 27, 2026. 

Gary will be remembered for his musical talent, his easygoing nature, the friendships he built, and the memories he created both on and off the stage. Music was woven into nearly every chapter of his life. Trained as a drummer, Gary could sing and play just about any instrument, though the guitar always held a special place in his heart. Having spent his life playing in bands, music was more than a hobby, it was a passion he shared with everyone around him. When he wasn’t making music or spending time with loved ones, Gary could often be found on the road enjoying his Jeep. He loved nothing more than getting behind the wheel and taking a drive whenever he had the chance. 

Gary shared a deep and devoted love with his wife, Sue (Melinda), and the love they shared was truly special. Her passing was an immeasurable loss for Gary and his loved ones take solace in knowing he is now reunited with his soulmate. Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Melinda Sue (Harmon) Nerone, and his mother, Priscilla (Keys) Nerone. 

He leaves behind his father, James Nerone; son, Bryan (Melissa) Nerone; daughter, Genny Lee; grandchildren, Brayden, Madi, Mikey, and Gianna; sister, Nadine (Mark) Hopp; brother, Darryl (Laura) Nerone; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
