George B. Dougherty

Funeral service for George B. Dougherty, age 89, of Mentor, will be 12 PM Monday, November 13, 2017 at Victory Baptist Church, 8911 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor.

Family will receive friends 10 AM- 12 PM Monday, prior to the service at the church.

George passed away November 7, 2017 in Willoughby. He was born September 26, 1928 in Lackawanna, New York.

George was a retired Greyhound bus driver. He attended Victory Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling and his family, especially his great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Evelyn Dougherty; children, Helen (Jerry) Sims, Clifford (Joyce) Dougherty, George (Christine) Dougherty, Karen Mackey, Dale Rose Moore, Gale Porter, Robin Messinger, Ronald (Joy) Messinger, and Mark (Sandi) Messinger. He is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Helen Dougherty and his son, Wilber Dougherty.

Final resting place will be in Madison Memorial Cemetery, following the service.
