Mass of Christian Burial for Glenn M. Thirion, 89, of Willoughby Hills, will be at 10 AM on Monday, September 19, 2016 at Saint Noel Catholic Church, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills. The Rev. George M. Smiga will officiate at the Mass. Final resting place will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.

The family will receive friends from 2-5 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Mr. Thirion passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 at his home.

Born June 27, 1927 in Chardon, he has lived in Willoughby Hills for more than 60 years.

He was a member of Saint Noel Catholic Church and was a United States Merchant Marine veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed gardening, tinkering in his garages and spending time at the lake property with his family.

Mr. Thirion was employed at the former Euclid Road Machinery Company in Euclid.

Survivors are his children, Michael (Charlene) Thirion, Mary Lou (Jim) Calandra, Mark (Kate) Thirion, Joseph (Terry Harper) Thirion and James (Joyce) Thirion; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He also leaves his daughter-in-law, Reggie Thirion and many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Helen and son, George. His parents, Frank and Josephine Thirion and brothers, Frank and Alfred Thirion are also deceased.
