Services for Gwendolyn J. (Long) Brown, 97, of Willowick, will be at 11 AM on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the funeral home. In honor of mom’s love for the Cleveland Indians, please feel free to wear your Indians gear.

Mrs. Brown passed away Saturday, August 9, 2025.

Born July 19, 1928 in Clymer, PA, she has lived in Willowick for the past 66 years.

Her family lovingly called her Gwenny Jean. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post #678 Willowick-Eastlake and a past member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine Club. She enjoyed baking for family and friends, working as a nanny and as a veterinary assistant. Gwen and Del enjoyed traveling with their friends from the American Legion and Oriental Shrine.

Survivors are her children, Robert L. (Susan) Brown, Kimberlee E. Brown and Michelle C. (Adam) Wallace; grandchildren, Vanessa Mansuy, Dr. Nicholas, Cameron and Dr. Mitchell Brown; Ryan, Kyle and Mackenzie Friebertshauser and brother, Russell M. Long. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmont E. Brown on January 13, 2003. Her parents, Edgar N. Sr. and Avonelle N. (Dwyer) Long and brothers, Colonel Robert C. Long, Edgar N. Long, Jr., and James R. Long are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township.
