Harry Jaek

Memorial services for Harry Jaek, Jr., 96, will be at 7 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Douglas Reeder of Calvary Fellowship Baptist Church will officiate at the service, followed by uniformed military honors conducted by members of the United States Air Force to honor Master Sergeant Jaek’s 20-years of service to his nation.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, 4700 Broadview Road, Cleveland, OH 44109. Please meet at the office at the cemetery.

Mr. Jaek died January 24, 2016 in Washington DC, where he has lived for the past 8 years, in the Armed
Forces Retirement Home. A Distinguished Veteran memorial service was held there on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.

Born April 17, 1919 in Cleveland, he maintained a 44-year homestead in Eastlake, before moving to Washington, DC.

Master Sergeant Jaek served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and continued his service during an enlistment in the United States Air Force.

Bud was an active man, gardener and golf enthusiast, and the family photographer and genealogist.

He was employed for 17 years and retired from the Fasson Products Division of Avery Dennison.

Survivors are his son, Kenneth E. Jaek of Henrico VA; grandsons, Daniel T. Jaek of Washington, DC and Aaron E. & wife Molly S. (Harrison) Jaek of Richmond, VA; and his daughter, Corine Jaek-Niedźwiedź of Arecibo, PR.

His beloved wife Jean F. (Niedzwiedz) Jaek passed away on March 27, 2007. His parents, Harry O. and Edna A. (Hundertmark) Jaek; brother, Sheridan W.B. Jaek; sister, Marguerite A. (Jaek) Payne and daughter-in-law, Theresa (Owen) Jaek are also deceased.
