A gathering to celebrate the life of Henry Carl Liedtke, 66, a lifelong Willoughby resident, will be from 6-8 PM on Monday, July 20, 2026 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Carl passed away Friday, July 3, 2026.
He was born August 30, 1959 in Painesville.
Carl was an avid fisherman and Cleveland Browns fan. He loved his 1968 Mustang and other cars, playing baseball and football, especially the annual turkey bowl on Thanksgiving Day. Carl also enjoyed a good cheeseburger.
He will be remembered as a good friend, always willing to help anyone with a move or anything that they might need.
Carl was employed as a truck driver and delivery man at the former Marino Brothers Furniture Company and then worked at Fine Interiors which later became Furniture Warehouse.
Survivors are his wife of 40 years, Cathy (Schmidt); sister, Becky Liedtke and brother-in-law, Phillip Novotny. He also leaves his nieces and nephews, Michael, Rachel, Angel, Greg, Logan, Tonya, Richard, Joseph, Nathan, Marji, Carlton, Sean, Ben, Michael, David, Mark, Katie, and Corinne and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ella Jean (Petersen) Liedtke; his sister, Linda Novotny and his brother, Henry “Skip” Liedtke.
Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Willoughby Cemetery, 4145 Madison Avenue, Willoughby.
