Herbert H. Alexander

Services for Herbert H. Alexander, 86, of Wickliffe, will be at 7 PM on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. The Rev. Don Grauer will officiate at the service.

Mr. Alexander passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at the Ohio Veteran’s Home in Sandusky.

Born August 23, 1926 in Blairsville, PA, he joined the US Navy in 1944 and returned to NE Ohio after WWII.

He was a former engineer for Ohio Bell and SBC Telephone, retiring in 1983.

Mr. Alexander was a 50-plus year member of Lyndhurst Lodge 508 F&AM, the American Legion Post of Ellicottville, NY, Telephone Pioneers Club and the BPOE Lodge 549, of Painesville.

Survivors are his wife of 41 years, Alice “Jane” (Campbell) Alexander, daughter, Sandra Martin of Wickliffe, granddaughters, Nicole and Alison and great-grandchildren, Brittany, Scott, Melinda, Jerrod, Jonathan and Nathan. He is also survived by cousins in Blairsville, PA.

His parents, Herbert and Veda (Lyoic) Alexander and son, Jeff R. Alexander are deceased.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-7 PM on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
