Howard Neil Zahn

Funeral services for H. Neil Zahn, 83, of Mentor, will be at 6 PM on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 3-6 PM on Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Neil passed away peacefully January 2, 2019 in Willoughby. Born January 8, 1935 in Woodcock Twp., Pennsylvania, Neil moved to Lake County at 8 years old and resided in Mentor, with his wife for the last 57 years.

Neil enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1957. Neil and his brothers, Jack and Bob, owned and operated an automobile service station in Willoughby for over 40 years.

Neil enjoyed yardwork, fishing, and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis J. (Mays) Zahn of 57 years; sons, Jeff Zahn, Steve (Andrea) Zahn, and Alan Zahn; grandchildren, Tyler and Amanda Zahn; sister-in-law, Barb Zahn; he is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen (Walsh) Zahn and brothers and sisters-in-law Jack and Fay Zahn and Bob and Helen Zahn.

Burial will be at 9:30 AM on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Mentor Cemetery, 6881 Hopkins Rd. Mentor (Section 22). Please meet at the gravesite.
