Hugh Charles Araps

March 21, 1985 — December 11, 2020

Hugh Araps, 35, of Mentor, passed away December 11, 2020 after a courageous fight against Ewing’s Sarcoma, a form of Cancer.

Born March 21, 1985, he was a 2003 graduate of Riverside High School. He married Jessica, the love of his life in June of 2016. Hugh was a devoted and loving husband and nothing brought more joy than their two boys.

He was employed by The Classic Auto Group in Mentor, where his outgoing personality made him a natural success. He enjoyed playing and watching sports of all kinds, but especially enjoyed golfing. His Thursday night golf league was something he looked forward to each summer.

Hugh had a special bond with those he loved, whether it be his close knit cousin group, the friends that he maintained over so many years, who care deeply for him and his family, or someone whose path he crossed even for a short time. If you were lucky enough to be counted among Hugh’s loved ones and friends, you had a loyal friend who was there for you always and valued your friendship.

Hugh is survived by his beloved wife, Jessica and sons, Caleb and Cameron, his brother, Peter of Willoughby, his parents Steve and Cathy of Concord, his in-laws, Mike and Liz Stonecipher of Concord and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Hugh was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sam and Edith Araps and maternal grandparents, Charles and Catherine Crow.

Jessica and the family cannot express enough love and gratitude to those who have been at their side. The fundraisers, donations, meal trains, and the constant well wishes from all has been overwhelming. The kindness bestowed upon them is a blessing. Thank you all for all you have done. Due to the Covid pandemic, services will not be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the GoFundMe, https://www.gofundme.com/f/fore-hugh that has been established to assist the family through this difficult time.
