A gathering to celebrate the life of Jim “Bing” Bingham, 65, of Painesville Township, will be held from 1-5 PM on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at The American Legion Post #336, 60 Chester Street, Painesville.
Jim passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at his home.
Born June 23, 1957 in Painesville, he was a lifelong Lake County resident.
He graduated from Kirtland High School and Lakeland Community College. He had a larger-than-life personality, and his humor could only be explained by “you never knew what he was going to say next,” but, you could be sure that it would be hysterical.
He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed fishing, traveling, especially trips to Florida, visiting wineries and doing things with his grandkids. He also enjoyed his many dogs through the years.
Jim was self-employed as a locksmith, operating Lake Mobile Lock and Key for 26 years, until retiring about five years ago.
Survivors are his wife of 10 years, Vanessa (Todaro) Bingham; children, Andrea (William) Varner, Louis (Chadwick) McCoy and Connie Bastulli; grandchildren, Giovanni, D’Angelo, Cecelia, Cordelia, Addison and Billy; sister, Beth (Ron Kisela) Goll and nephews, Brad (Alison) Goll and Dave (Brendan Shinosky) Goll and great-nieces, Ayla and Ari Goll.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jill, on January 27, 2008 and his granddaughter, Carmella. His parents, William and Eileen (Reynolds) Bingham; mother-in-law, Pauline; grandparents, Claude and Bessie (Irwin) Reynolds, William and Emma (Smith) Bingham and brother-in-law, Ronald Goll are also deceased.
Private family burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
