Funeral services for James C. Blevins, 89, of Willoughby, will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at Willoughby Bible Church, 37927 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Monday, September 27, 2021 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
James passed unexpectedly at home in Willoughby, Ohio, September 22, 2021. Jim shared his life with his love, Dee Blevins, happily married for over 44 years.
Jim was born March 13, 1932 in Sutherland, Tennessee. After his school years and working on his family farm, Jim enlisted into the U.S. Army and proudly served during The Korean Conflict.
Upon receiving an honorable discharge, Jim moved to Cleveland, where he worked for TRW Valve Division for 39 years. During this time, Jim formed many friendships that lasted a lifetime. Jim retired from his supervisory position in 1990. In his retirement, Jim enjoyed traveling and spending time with Dee, family, and friends.
Jim had several hobbies; he was an avid golfer and collected clocks. He was also a member of the Willoughby Eagles. Jim was a 32nd degree Mason, and an active member of Willoughby Bible Church for many years.
Jim was an amazing husband, father, father-in-law, grandad, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. A gentle and kind soul who was beloved by everyone he met. He will be remembered for his unselfish devotion to his family and friends.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Dee (Martin) Blevins; children, Richard (Lee), Felecia “Cricket” (Mike), and Jeffrey (Katie); grandchildren, Elijah, Archer, and Alexandra; great-grandchildren, Hadley and Eliana; sisters, Margaret Phillips, Hazel Hutchison, and Francis Smith, and many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wesley Blevins and Gay Victoria (Neely) Blevins and his sisters, Dorothy Louise Ritchie and Mary Elizabeth Hill.
Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Twp.
