James Cargill

Services for James "Eagle" Cargill, 69, of Leroy Township, will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Cargill passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 at his home.

Born June 11, 1954 in Fife, Scotland, his family emigrated to the United States in 1960 and he has lived in Leroy Township for the past 23 years.

He was a member of the Teamsters Union and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, his four-wheelers, and working on his house.

Jim was an over-the-road truck driver for Yellow Freight for 33 years and later drove for ABF Freight for an additional seven years. In his entire career, he never had an accident.

Survivors are his daughter, Chelsea (Dan) Howiler; grandsons, Seth, Collin, and Ethan and brothers, Harry and Scott Cargill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Annie (Duffin) Cargill and his sons, James and Christopher Cargill.

Private family burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery.
