Celebration of Life for James G. “Jim” Claycomb, 81, of Willoughby, will be at 4 PM Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.
Family will receive friends 1-4 PM Sunday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jim passed away peacefully on October 6, 2022 at Kirtland Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was born January 23, 1941 in Latrobe, PA to James H. and Geraldine (Anthony) Claycomb.
Jim attended Rock Creek High School. He was an U.S. Army Veteran. He was a longtime member of the Chagrin Lagoons Yacht Club where he served as measurer and was a commander in the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the City of Willoughby.
Jim was the proud co-owner of Falls Mower Lawn and Garden Center in Chagrin Falls and of C&B Lakeland Marine in Wickliffe.
He met Jean Vorlicek, his wife of 59 years, on a blind date set up by his cousin.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Claycomb; children, Keith J. (Karen) Claycomb, James K. (Lilly) Claycomb, and Karyn M. (Christopher) Qualey; grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler Claycomb and Anthony Qualey; and his brother, William K. Claycomb.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. and Geraldine (Anthony) Claycomb and by his sister-in-law, Brenda Claycomb.
Final resting place will be in Rock Creek Cemetery.
