James G. Franklin

A celebration of the life of James G. Franklin, 72, of Willowick, will be held from 2-5 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the home of Becky and Joe D’Arcangelo, 9085 Richards Drive, Mentor.

Mr. Franklin passed away Monday, June 23, 2014 at his home.

Born February 16, 1942 in Cleveland, he has lived in Willowick for the past 38 years.

He was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He was a graduate of Mentor High School, class of 1960; a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2300 in Willoughby and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at camp in Tidioute, PA. He also enjoyed working outdoors around his home and tinkering with his vehicles.

Mr. Franklin was employed as a meter reader with the Lake County Department of Utilities. He retired in 2004 after 20 years of service.

Survivors are his beloved wife of 40 years, Shelia (Yoho) Franklin and brother, Gary (Linda) Franklin of Pontiac, IL. He also leaves his nieces, Becky (Joe) D’Arcangelo, Jill Mullen and Kimberly (Jeff) Reinhardt; nephews, Lenny (Marilee) Mullen, Jeffrey Franklin; great nieces, Valerie, Jodi, Lexi, Ashleigh, Gracie and Claire and great nephews, Jason, Sam, Ethan and Jason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Sally Franklin; his in-laws, Hazen and Grace Yoho; his great niece, Veronica and great nephew, Carter.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
