James C. Lodge

James C. “Jim” Lodge, 82, of Painesville, formerly of Mentor, passed away early Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at CareCore in Mentor after a brief illness.

Preceding Jim in death are his wife of 46 years, Beverly Lodge; parents, Charles and Elizabeth (nee: Martin) Lodge; sister, Helen Baber; stepson, Dennis Findlay and nephew, Gary Baber.

Jim will be sadly missed by his children, Diana (Nick) Miller and Darrell (Mia) Findlay; grandchildren, Nicole (Ken) Compher, Anthony (Amanda) Miller, Jennifer (Tim) Kato; great-grandchildren, Camden and Jacob Compher, Mariah Bevacqua (Miller), Tanner Miller, Oliver Kato and nephew and niece, Dean and Brenda Baber.

Jim enjoyed gardening, volunteering as an usher at the Mentor United Methodist church and spending holidays and get-togethers with his family.

He was a veteran and served from 1963 to 1967 in the US Army Reserves and then from 1967 to 1970 in the US Air Force Reserves.

Jim retired after 30 plus years in retail sales but liked to stay busy delivering flowers for local florists for many years.

The family will receive friends from 2-5 PM on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Funeral services for Jim will be at 11 AM on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Mentor United Methodist Church, 8600 Mentor Avenue, Mentor. Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery following the service on Monday.
