James Richard Mackey

James R. “Jim” Mackey, 87, of Willoughby, passed away peacefully January 13, 2022. Born March 28, 1934 in Painesville, he lived in the Lake County area most of his life.
He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and Ohio State University alumni receiving his degree in horticulture and remained an avid OSU football fan.
He was a retired employee of The Episcopal Diocese of Ohio and active lifelong member of The Episcopal Church. He loved practicing horticulture and being outdoors. He was a very faithful husband, father, and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Martha J. (Hazzard) Mackey; children, Terry Kotnik, Mike (Brenda) Morgan, Larry Morgan, Jay Morgan, Cindi (Jim) Kemmerle, and Rebecca (Michael) Parks; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eino and Lillian Mackey and his sister, Virginia.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
