James E. Mcelroy Jr.

It is with deep sadness that the family of James E. “Jim” McElroy, Jr., 61, of Mentor, announces his passing.

James passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at his home, surrounded by family.

Born October 23, 1963 in Euclid, James graduated from Mentor High School in 1981 and went on to pursue a career in HVAC.

He will be remembered for his quick wit, hardworking nature and willingness to help anyone in need.

He is survived by his mother, Clare McElroy; children, Nathan Roberts and Sarah McElroy; former wife, Joanne Cianfaglione-McElroy; sister, Susan Griffith and half-sister, Nicole (Timothy) Hanna. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. James will also be missed dearly by his German Shepherd and loyal companion, Junior.

James was preceded in death by his father, James E. McElroy, Sr. and grandparents, Rachel and Marvin Wehagen, Florence Coleman and Leonora and Thomas Allen.

At Jim’s request, no services will be held.
