Jeanne Kile

Services for Jeanne (Foster) Kile, 86, of Kirtland, will be at 8 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Mrs. Kile passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.

Born November 21, 1927 in Kirtland, she was a lifelong Kirtland resident.

Known as the original Kirtlander, she was an avid reader, enjoyed flower gardening and traveling abroad.

She was a big sports fan, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Kile was employed as the secretary for the Superintendent of Kirtland Schools for 41 years, retiring in 1994. April 29, 1994 was proclaimed Jeanne Kile day by the Kirtland School Board, the City of Kirtland and the Ohio General Assembly.

Survivors are her children, David (Monica) Kile of Columbus, Patti (Mike) Kidder of Mentor, Steve (Renee) Kile and Vicki Flynt, all of Kirtland; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Kile on July 1, 1994. Her parents, Henry and Charlotte (Davidson) Foster; daughter, Kathy Kile; son-in-law, William Flynt and siblings, Richard Foster and Ann Smith are also deceased.

The family will receive friends from 2-4, 6-8 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Elder Steven E. Davidson of Kirtland Community of Christ will officiate at the service. Private burial will be in North Kirtland Cemetery.
