Jeanne R. (Ladwig) Schimmelmann

Funeral services for Jeanne R. (Ladwig) Schimmelmann, 77, of Wickliffe, will be at 10 AM Monday, December 29, 2025 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 32410 Willowick Dr., Willowick.

Family will receive friends 12-2 PM & 4-6 PM Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.

Jeanne passed away December 16, 2025 in Wickliffe. She was born May 22, 1948 in Cleveland.

Jeanne was a teacher in the South Euclid-Lyndhurst school district before becoming a children’s librarian in Wickliffe. She was fondly known as “Mrs. S.” She was a very devoted lifetime member of Bethel Lutheran Church and was a member of LWML and former district president. She was a longtime treasurer of the Women’s Ladies Aide. Jeanne was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie Schimmelmann; brothers, Howard “Bill” (Carol) Ladwig Jr. and Chuck (Memie) Ladwig. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John E. “Jack” Schimmelmann on September 17, 2024 and her parents, Howard and Margaret (Andrews) Ladwig.

Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Twp. following the funeral service.

Family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Bethel Lutheran Church campaign of gratitude fund.
