Jerome Edward “Jerry” Moyers, 79, was born November 10, 1942, in Fonde, KY. He died on May 29, 2022, in Willoughby.
Jerry was a retired part-time Firefighter and EMT for the City of Mentor and enjoyed helping create and support the Mentor Fire Museum. Before his retirement, he was also a plumber and loved helping people during a crisis, at any time, day or night, even on holidays. He was good at rescuing, and knew exactly what to do. Other interests included donating time to work with the Eagle Scouts, traveling, camping, and being involved in Christian activities.
He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Diane (Richardson) Moyers; sons, Jerome (Suzanne) Moyers, Jr. of Wilmington, NC and Richard Moyers of Roswell, GA; grandchildren, Thomas, Jacob, Joshua, and Brooke; great granddaughter, Isabella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Roger B. and Mary (Hill) Moyers; several siblings and his granddaughter, Racquel.
Private services for the family are pending.
