Memorial services for Jesse A. McCready, 91, of Mentor, will be at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Marie Phillips, Rector of Saint Andrew Episcopal Church will officiate at the service.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Brethren and friends of Temple Lodge 28 F. & A.M. will conduct Masonic Rites followed by military honors immediately after Rev. Phillips’ service.
Mr. McCready passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Heartland of Mentor.
Born May 28, 1925 in Canonsburg, PA, he has lived in Mentor since 1952.
He was a World War II United States Navy veteran and attended Saint Andrew Episcopal Church in Kirtland Hills. He was a member of Temple Lodge 28 F. & A.M. in Painesville, (formerly Mentor Lodge 772 F. & A.M.), Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland and The Order of the Eastern Star, Willoughby Chapter 202.
Mr. McCready was employed as a carpenter, and worked many years for the former Bank One, Addressograph-Multigraph Corporation and the Mentor Schools.
Survivors are his daughter, Candace “Candy” McCready and many nieces, nephews and cousins and their families.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine in 1998. His parents, Edward and Mary (Carberry) McCready, one sister and two brothers are also deceased.
