Jill M. Chuba

October 3, 1968 — September 22, 2022

A Mass of Christian Burial for Jill M. Chuba, 53, of Willowick, will be at 11 AM on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at St. Noel Catholic Church, 35200 Chardon Road, Willoughby Hills.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Miss Chuba passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022.

Born October 3, 1968 in Euclid, she had grown up in Willowick, graduating from Eastlake North High School in 1987 and Kent State University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She has resided in the Lake County area her entire life.

She was a member of St. Noel Catholic Church and was frequently involved in various children’s church programs including Grace Episcopal Church and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Jill was an immensely popular teacher having worked in various school settings at both the elementary and high school level throughout the Greater Cleveland area and in many extracurricular school activities, namely cheerleading. Later in her career she also became a certified personal trainer having worked at various gyms in that capacity and even competed in a body building competition.

She loved to travel, and “hang out” with both friends as well as significant others, as she was known for viewing every event and adventure as a “Kodak moment.” She also loved to dance (especially with mom), play women’s softball, and work out at Fitworks.

Jill was the life of the party even when she didn’t intend to be given her reputation of being pleasantly gullible.

She was fiercely determined and independent as she never let any obstacle get in the way of her goals. Jill’s love and immense dedication towards her friends was admirable and stayed with her from childhood up until her later years.

Although she did not have children, her affection for them was obvious in both her family life as well as her professional life. Photos adorning her home of all her nephews and nieces are reminiscent of such as her sentimental nature was contagious.

Survivors are her siblings, Daniel (Elizabeth), Craig (Lisa Lee) and John (Carrie Marie); nephews and nieces include Brianna, Andrew, Tyler (Zoey), Noah, Gina (William), Dominic, Nolan, and Aulton; great nieces, Rowan and Regan; aunts, Evelyn Jamison, Grace Chuba and aunt and uncle Betsy and David Bukovsky and many cousins on both sides of our family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Jean (Kowalchik) Chuba as well as her grandparents, John and Tressa Chuba and Andrew and Helen Kowalchik.

Final resting place will be in Mentor Cemetery following the Mass on Thursday.
