Joanne Hubbard, an Ashtabula County icon, passed away peacefully at age 90 surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Hubbard was born in Seattle, Washington on August 21, 1926 to Gretchen and Noble White. She graduated from Whitman College in Washington.
She married Burritt S. Hubbard on December 20, 1950. They were married for 57 years.
Mrs. Hubbard was active in many social service organizations, serving as president of the American Field Services organization for exchange students in Ashtabula and board chair of the St. John’s Homes for Girls in Painesville. She held annual Christmas parties for the girls at her home in Ashtabula.
Mrs. Hubbard cherished her roles over the years as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her son, Burt; son, Richard (Annie); daughter, Gretchen (Tony); grandchildren, Leslie, Josh, Tina and Andrew, and two great grandchildren.
Services will be Monday, February 27, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Grace Episcopal Church, 36200 Ridge Road in Willoughby.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grace Woods Beautification Fund c/o of the Ohio Living Breckenridge Village, 36855 Ridge Road, Willoughby, Ohio 44094.
