John Gilbert Arko

John Gilbert Arko, 58, of Narberth, PA, passed away at his home on June 20th, 2022, surrounded by his beloved family.

John was born on August 10th, 1963, to Gilbert and Patricia (Moore) Arko in Cleveland, OH.

After graduating from Willoughby South High in 1981, he went on to study Mathematics at Miami University.

In 1986 he began his 35-year career as a retirement benefits professional, working at Towers Perrin, Cigna, and Lincoln Financial Group.

John met Lisa Langdon at a party in downtown Philadelphia in 1990. They married soon after, and went on to have two children, Maggie and Gibb, and a joyful 30-year marriage, filled with love and adventure.

John was an adoring and selfless father. His intellect, humor, and boundless compassion will be missed by his family and friends, and all those who shared a glass of red wine with him.

John was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Arko; his siblings, Kenneth Arko, Kathryn Bolek, Karen (John) Clements; and his two children, Margaret (Christopher) Hurd, and Gilbert Arko.

A wake will be held at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 5-8 PM in Willoughby, OH.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 12 PM in Willoughby, OH.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at his home in Narberth, PA on August 6, 2022.
