John Robert Babcock

John R. Babcock, 66, of Euclid, died after an extended illness on December 16, 2019, at his home in Euclid, Ohio. He was born on April 1, 1953, to Robert T. Babcock and Virginia Gieseking Babcock in Warsaw, Indiana.

John graduated from Ashland Senior High School in 1971, attended The Ohio State University Mansfield Branch Campus, and then joined the army serving four years in Washington, DC. After running a small business for several years in Columbus, John completed a doctoral degree in psychology at Akron University. He worked for a number of years as a clinical counselor for troubled teens.

John enjoyed close relationships with his girlfriend, Hollis Geary of Euclid, Ohio, her family, and her grandson Mason. He was an avid reader throughout his life who enjoyed debating current events.

John is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Chronister, and his brother Max T. Babcock, as well as three nephews, two nieces, and their children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Scott R. Babcock.

A private service of remembrance will be arranged at a later date for the immediate family.
