John F. Cox

John F. Cox, Sr., was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at the age of 94. He passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Portsmouth, OH to Elmer and Ethel (Edwards) Cox and was a proud resident of Willoughby for 72 years.

John was a World War II United States Army Air Corps veteran.

After 38 years as a manufacturing engineer, he retired in 1987 as a section supervisor in the Valve Division of the former TRW Corporation.

Preceding him in death were his parents, older brother, Elmer Cox and sister, Catherine Walden, twin sister, Martha Jane Cox and his beloved son, Daniel.

He leaves behind his loving wife and sweetheart of 77 years, Margaret “Peach” (Burks) Cox; loving children, John (Mary) Cox, Jr., Timothy, Nancy (Scott) Brady and Susie Taylor; also, his four special grandchildren; five great-grandkids and his sister-in-law, Maryann Cox.

He was grateful for his nieces and nephews, many friends, caring neighbors and his “up-the-street” gang.

John will always be remembered as he lived his life – with kindness, caring, gentleness and love. Our true family hero will be carried in our hearts with gratitude for his love.

There are no calling hours or services planned at this time. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
