John A. Damian

A service to celebrate the life of John A. Damian, 95, of Willoughby, will be at 7 PM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, prior to the service.

Mr. Damian passed away Monday, November 24, 2025 at his home.

Born February 5, 1930 in Cleveland, he has lived in Willoughby since 1987.

He was a United States Navy veteran and enjoyed gardening and small engine repair.

Mr. Damian was employed as a tool and die engineer, having retired from the Eaton Corporation in 1995. He was well known in the community as the proprietor of John’s Precision Chainsaw Sharpening service in Willoughby for 30 years.

Survivors are his children, Joanne Damian, Jeanne (David) Briggs and John (Joelle) Damian and step-children, Joseph (Tina) Hart and Katherine Hart (Kevin Orr); grandchildren, Joseph (Liza) Kovalick, Mark Kovalick, James Kovalick, Lauren Damian and Elaina Damian and step-grandchildren, Emma Hart and Tommy Hart. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Mary Katherine (Hart) Damian on February 25, 2020. His parents, Steve and Dorothy (Hampu) Damian and sisters, Ann Shrock and Mary Tischler are also deceased.

Private family interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
