Services for John A. “Pacca” Grossl, 89, of Kirtland, will be at 9:30 AM on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Chardon Baptist Church, 363 Wilson Mills Road, Chardon. Rev. Kevin Pierpont and Rev. Jim Hayes will officiate at the service.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Mr. Grossl passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born April 17, 1934 in Wyoming, PA , he has lived in Kirtland for the past 60 years.
John was a member of Chardon Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He was known in the community as the “tomato man.” He had an amazing sense of humor which will be cherished by his family.
Mr. Grossl was employed as a drill press operator at Lincoln Electric, retiring in 1990.
Survivors are his wife of 70 years, Edith (Yost) Grossl; son, John (Robin) Grossl; grandchildren, April Wallie, Kristin (Jamey) Hess, Misty Grossl, Tony Perri and Jessica Perri; great-grandsons, Alex, Hunter, Ezekiel and Luke Hess and great-great grandson, Silas Hess. He also leaves his sons-in-law, Bill Wallie and Roger Perri.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Crystal Perri on October 9, 2014 and Judith Wallie on September 2, 2016. His parents, Anthony and Rittie (Daugherty) Grossl; sister, Doris Renner and brother, Everett Grossl are also deceased.
Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township, following the service on Thursday.
