Memorial services for John A. Payak, Jr., 68, of Mentor, will be at 1 PM on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Donald R. Perks, of Willoughby United Methodist Church, will officiate at the service.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1 PM on Thursday, prior to the service.
Mr. Payak passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Cleveland Clinic.
Born March 13, 1947 in Girard, he has lived in Mentor for the past 22 years.
He was a United States Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Payak was employed as systems engineer/plant manager at the former Gould, Inc., and then as a teacher in the Geneva Public Schools.
Survivors are his wife of 13 years, Diane J. (Davis) Payak; son, Brian Aplis; grandchildren, Barbara (Justin) Seredich, Alicia Aplis, Nicholas Aplis, Adriana Aplis, Joshua Aplis and Patrick Aplis; and brothers, James (Jean) Payak, Louis Payak.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr., and Clara (Schiavoni) Payak.
