John Edward Schimmelmann

Funeral services for John E. Schimmelmann, 76, of Wickliffe, will be at 11 AM Monday, September 23, 2024 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 32410 Willowick Dr. Willowick.

Family will receive friends 3-6 PM Sunday at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.

John passed away September 17, 2024 in Willoughby. He was born November 19, 1947 in Cleveland.

John was a proud U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He retired from Parkview Federal Savings Bank in Solon after 29 years. He loved golfing with the Moonlighters, working in his garden, and talking with people. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, serving as president of the congregation. Prior to, he was treasurer for over 25 years. John loved God, his family, and his country.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jeanne R. (Ladwig) Schimmelmann and his daughter, Julie Schimmelmann.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Eleanor (Zizelmann) Schimmelmann.

Private graveside services will be held.

Family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Bethel Lutheran Church stained glass window fund.
