Joseph A. Girgas

Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph A. Girgas Jr., 79, of Kirtland, will be 12:30 PM Monday, July 16, 2018 at Divine Word Catholic Church, 8100 Eagle Rd., Kirtland, OH 44094.
Family will receive friends 2-6 PM Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Girgas passed away July 10, 2018 at Lake West Medical Center. He was born February 21, 1939 in Grindstone, Pennsylvania.
Joseph retired from Lincoln Electric in 2000, after 42 years of service where he received several awards of distinction. Joe loved to debate politics and enjoyed gardening, his koi pond, and cats.
Survivors include his children Cyndi (Nabeel Matti) Girgas and Joseph (Cheryl Flowers) Girgas III; grandson, Carlos Matti; and brother, Ed (Wilma) Girgas. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Mae (Novotney) Girgas in 2000. His parents Joseph and Mary (Koynock) Girgas are also deceased.
Final resting place will be in South Kirtland Cemetery, following the mass on Monday.
