Julianne K. Loomis

Services for Julianne K. (Kline) Loomis, 87, of Willoughby will be at 11 AM on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Donald R. Perks of Willoughby United Methodist Church will officiate at the service.

Mrs. Loomis passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015.

Born August 8, 1927 in Richmond, Indiana, and raised in Eaton, Ohio, she has lived in Willoughby for the past 61 years.

She was a member of Willoughby United Methodist Church and an avid Cleveland Indians fan. She was a longtime volunteer at the LakeMetro Parks Penitentiary Glen Reservation where she counted butterflies. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and feeding the deer and squirrels in her back yard. She was also a graduate of the College of Wooster, class of 1949.

Mrs. Loomis was a teacher’s aide for students with special needs in the Willoughby-Eastlake Schools and later served as a teacher’s aide in the pre-school at Willoughby United Methodist Church.

Survivors are her children, Thomas A. Loomis of Willoughby; Sarah A. “Sally” Loomis of Macedonia and Jonathan K. “Jay” (fiancé, Liz) Loomis of Albion, MI; grandchildren, Tiffany Viton, Andrew Viton, Christopher Boggs, Bradford (Codi) Loomis, serving in the United States Air Force, and Jordan Thornton; great-granddaughter, Pyper Rose; brother, Thomas (Diane) Kline and cousin, E. Ellis Frank, all of Eaton, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dana B. Loomis on February 2, 1996.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM on Friday at the funeral home, prior to the service. Final resting place will be in South Kirtland Cemetery.
