On Friday, December 16, 2022, Katherine M. “Kathy” Brumter, loving wife and matriarch, passed away peacefully at the age of ninety-one. Born to Arthur and Angeline (Audino) Sarrocco, one of four daughters in Ravenna, Ohio and married to Bernard A. Brumter for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by two infant sons, Mark Brumter and Matthew Brumter and two older sisters, Doris Norman and Madeline Perkins. She is survived by three children, Deborah Keyser (Philip), Paula Ahlstrom (Robert), and Michael Brumter (Wendy); three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her younger sister, Rose Marie Mascio (John).
Katherine was best known for her commitment to faith and family. She was passionate about the church and was a fervent sacristan. A talented cook under the guidance of her mother, she developed an interest in specialty cookies, that became a tradition for loved ones’ showers and weddings. Her daughters called her “Chatty Kathy” because she knew no strangers and was able to engage with anyone for any length of time. Her nickname since childhood was “Tootie” or “Tootsie” from her father because of her dark brown eyes. She loved old-time movie classics and could instantly recall titles and stars.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 AM Saturday, April 22, 2023 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to The American Cancer Society.
