Kimberly Patrice Schmidt

Funeral services for Kimberly Patrice Schmidt, age 64, former wife of Kenneth, mother of Gary, Karl, and Kurt, and sister of Chris will be at 10 AM Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 37728 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby. Family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. Final resting place will be in Knollwood Cemetery.

Kim was born on August 30, 1960 to the late David Owens and Karen Owens (nee Miller) and passed away on October 10, 2024.

Kim was the best mother anyone could ask for. Her willing to serve others before herself was Christlike and exemplary. She always put her sons first, even at her own expense. She refused to burden her children, living out Christ’s command that the last shall be first. Even when she was sick and suffering, she thought first of her family and how she can help them. She strove first above all things to be a fantastic mother, and she achieved that goal.

Her love for others spread even to animals. She loved to take care of everyone’s pets and had a way of nurturing and caring for them even in the hardest of conditions. The owners of the animals she cared for spoke nothing but graciously towards her 24-hour, passionate care for them, sacrificing everything of her own for their benefit. The animals loved her too.

Kim even spent her free time caring for others, whether it be friends, or extended family. Those who were friends knew her selflessness and care. In her moments to herself, she enjoyed listening to music and resting from her efforts serving others. Every Sunday she was able to attend church, she was grateful beyond words to attend with her son and receive the forgiveness of God through Word and Sacrament.
