Laverna J. Ford

Memorial services for Laverna J. Ford, 79, of Mentor, will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Painesville Baptist Church, 140 Park Road Extension, Painesville.

The family will receive friends following the service until 3 PM at the Church.

Mrs. Ford went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 17, 2021.

Born April 21, 1942 in Rockwood, PA, she was a daughter of Clem and Lola (Shultz) Nicholson, she lived in Lake County for more than 65 years.

After graduation from Kirtland High School, Class of 1960, she worked for the former Austin Steel Company and later as office manager at the Oak Hill Village Apartments in Willoughby, until her retirement in 2012.

Laverna is survived by her son, Rick Ford; grandson, Ryan; granddaughter, Virginia (Dale) Lozar and their daughters, Carmella and Caprice Lozar and sister, Darlene (Dennis) Artman. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 52 years, Richard; her parents; seven brothers and six sisters.
