Linda L. Grano, 76, of Mentor, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026. She was born November 29, 1949 in Cleveland to Nicholas J. and Rose K. (Consolo) Grano. She was raised in Richmond Heights.
Linda was a 1967 graduate of Brush High School and a 1971 graduate of Kent State University. She retired from FM Global, formerly known as Allendale Insurance. She relocated with her company to Rhode Island in 2000, where she made lifelong friends. She returned to Mentor in 2007.
If you knew Linda, you loved her, but she wasn’t for everyone. She was honest and stubborn to a fault, but she loved her people fiercely. She enjoyed spoiling her niece and nephews and their families. Whether it was dropping off a meal or groceries, or going on a shopping spree, her generosity was evident.
Linda enjoyed cooking and baking and trying new recipes, which led to a crazy collection of cookbooks. She loved travelling and reading the latest bestsellers. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. You could always find her relaxing with a fresh smoke, Diet Coke, and the meanest cat around. Linda will be remembered for her Heinen’s and Malley’s runs and compulsive Amazon shopping. You never knew what was going to be in the boxes delivered and most times she didn’t either.
Survivors include her brother, Philip Grano and her nephews and niece, Christopher (Leanne) Grano (Robert, James and Evelyn), Nicholas (Tara) Grano (Nick, Charlie, and Elizabeth), and Kimberly (Neal) Saluja (Cole and Grant).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas J. and Rose K. (Consolo) Grano and sister-in-law, Terry A. (Roche) Grano.
A special thank you to Kathy Duricky and Megan Zoul for their companionship and exceptional care for Linda the past 10 years. We couldn’t have done it without you.
In keeping with Linda’s wishes, no services will be held.
