Linda M. Pleinies (Franko), age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17th, 2026 at Reserve Care Hospice in Cleveland.
A Catholic Mass for Linda will be on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 10 AM at Divine Word Catholic Church, located at 8100 Eagle Road, Kirtland, Ohio 44094.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Linda’s life journey began on September 30, 1945, born to William and Celia (Demski) Franko. Linda grew up in Maple Heights, Ohio and attended Marymount High School. She also attended Kent State for six months after graduation.
On December 28, 1968, Linda married Klaus Pleinies. Together, they had two daughters, Monica and Kristina. Being a mother was her greatest accomplishment in life. Being a grandmother was also the greatest pleasure of her life. Her face lit up every time she had a conversation or visit from any of her four grandchildren.
Linda was a lifelong resident of Parma, Ohio, and was a devoted member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish.
Linda was a civil servant and worked for the City of Parma for 25+ years in the Service Department handling Payroll. After her retirement from Parma City Hall, she greatly missed and cherished all the friendships and memories she had made while working there.
Linda was a long-time caregiver to her parents.
Linda’s hobbies included watching gangster/mob movies, her favorite being The Godfather series, as well as watching the Hallmark channel, Dancing with the Stars, ice-skating competitions and 20/20. She was an avid collector, aka ‘hoarder’ haha! She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her loving heart, and inability to make a single, solitary decision – another haha!
Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the legacy she leaves behind will remain in the hearts of her family forever. Mom - We love and miss you already.
She is survived by her daughters, Monica (Keffer) Norris of Tampa, FL and Kristina (Tony) Beletic of Willoughby; grandchildren, Aaron Norris, Sydney Norris, Isabella Beletic and Olivia Beletic. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Eleanor Franko.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Celia (Demski) Franko and her brother, William Franko. Her former husband, Klaus Pleinies is also deceased.
Final resting place will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township following mass.
