Mary Frances Bachmann

Visitation for Mary Frances Bachmann, 88, of Gilbert, Arizona, will be from 2-4 PM on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Mrs. Bachmann passed on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Cogir of Morrison Ranch Senior Living in Gilbert, Arizona.

Mary Fran was born December 23, 1937, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. She attended Ohio Wesleyan University where she earned a BA in Elementary Education. Mary Fran and Winston Bachmann were married on August 1st, 1964, in Wilkinsburg, PA. She taught in the Euclid school systems from 1959-1965 and in the South Euclid Lyndhurst school systems from 1975-1982 while raising three sons. She was a member of the former First Presbyterian Church of East Cleveland and, more recently, a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Willoughby.

Mary Fran and Win were longtime Lyndhurst residents before moving to Breckenridge Village in Willoughby in 2007. Mary Fran enjoyed hiking, social activities, singing in choirs, playing piano and guitar, attending plays and concerts, and family vacations. In recent decades Mary Fran and Win attended 14 Elder Hostels, over half of which were in Arizona. They were married for 56 years.

Mary Fran moved to Gilbert, Arizona in 2022 to be closer to family. Survivors are her sons, Stephen (Katharine) Bachmann of Mt. Shasta, CA; Glen (Pamela) Bachmann of Gilbert, AZ and Scott (Hiroko) Bachmann of Yokosuka, Japan; grandchildren, Christopher, Jacob, Abigail and Douglas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Winston Bachmann, and parents, Hugh and Isabel (Frease) King.

Final resting place will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling, WV.
