Mary Ellen Paolo

Services for Mary Ellen (Mathews) Paolo, 95, of Wickliffe, will be at 10 AM on Friday, February 13. 2026 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Paolo passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

Born May 30, 1930 in Kirtland, she has lived in Wickliffe for over 60 years.

She was an active member and volunteer of the Wickliffe Senior Center where she later was employed as a nutritionist. She was also a former bank teller before raising her sons.

Survivors are her sons, Domenic A. (Susan) Paolo, Jr. and Matthew Paolo; grandson, Domenic A. Paolo, III and great-grandson, Nicko.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Domenic A. Paolo, Sr. on June 26, 1990. Her parents, Herman A. and Christene (Durst) Mathews, her brother, James Mathews and her longtime companion, Paul Bellon are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
