Maysell C. Brately

Mass of Christian Burial for Maysell C. (Huffman) Brately, 96, of Mentor, will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 8560 Mentor Avenue, Mentor.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM on Friday, September 10, 2021 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.

Maysell passed away September 6, 2021 at the Slovene Home in Cleveland.

Born November 4, 1924 in Davis, West Virginia, she has lived in Mentor for the past 70 years.

Maysell worked at The News-Herald for many years and was a longtime member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. She loved her family, baking, gardening, card games, and The Cleveland Browns.

Survivors include her children, Marcella Dove, Linda Brately, John (Betsy) Brately, Thomas (Monica) Brately, and Michael (Teresa) Brately; grandchildren, Melissa Brately, Rebecca (Zoran) Jovanovic, Stephanie (Douglas) Thornton, Joseph (Rebekah) Brately, Adam (Jayna) Brately, Brian (fiancé Ellen Cinadr) Brately, and Bridget (Josh) England; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Andrew, Maria, Zachary, Sarah, Ella, Anna, Benjamin, Luke, Emilia, and Timothy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Brately in 2005; grandson, John Brately II and 11 brothers and sisters. Her son-in-law, Neil Dove and daughter-in-law, Beverly Brately are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Twp.
