Michael Zielke

Private family services will be held for Michael Zielke, 85, of Willoughby Hills.

Mr. Zielke passed away Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Fairmount Health Center at Breckenridge Village in Willoughby.

Born August 30, 1934 in Europe, he has lived in the Cleveland area for the past 70 years, and formerly lived in Gerdau, Germany. He also enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years.

He was a long-time active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Willowick and a member of the Donauschwaben German-American Cultural Center in Cleveland and the German-American Social Club in Cape Coral, Florida.

Mr. Zielke was employed as a machinist at Mutual Metal and then General Electric prior to owning Z & M Machine. He was also a real estate broker.

Survivors are his wife of 66 years, Dorothy A. (Gorski) Zielke; his sister-in-law, Riedia Zielke; children, Ruth (Randy) Lentz, Alan (Jackie) Zielke and Karen (Gregory) Simpson; grandchildren, Allison (Dan) Bubar, Jenny (Garrett) Moore, Lindsay (Michael) Johnson-Palinkas, Christina Zielke, Samuel Johnson (Jess Downs), Zachary Zielke, Bridget Simpson and Jason Simpson; and great-grandchildren, Daniel Jackson Bubar, Caleb Bubar, Grayson Moore, Collyn Moore, Aiden Howard and Jasper Johnson-Palinkas.

He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Zielke, on February 28, 2015. His parents, Wilhelm and Natalie (Schmidt) Zielke and brother, Arnold Zielke are also deceased.

Final resting place will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Cleveland.
