Services for Mildred M. (Denson) Abercrombie, 82, of Mentor, will be at 11 AM on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Mrs. Abercrombie passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at her home.
Born June 20, 1930 in Middletown, OH, she was raised in Virginia and has lived in Lake County for more than 50 years.
She enjoyed gardening and most especially spending time with her family.
Mrs. Abercrombie was the manager at the former Mentor Drive-In theatre, and later worked at Heather Hill in Chardon in the dementia care unit. She retired after 15 years of service.
Survivors are her husband of 15 years, David L. Abercrombie, Sr.; daughters, Charolette (Chris, Sr.) Dingley of Painesville and Linda (Dave, Jr.) Abercrombie of Perry; Clark (Karen) Abercrombie of Painesville and Phyllis Abercrombie of Georgia; grandchildren, Merri Beth (John Ervine) Nagy, Brian Nagy, Christel (Kevin) Bryant, Christopher (Dorie Hoffman) Dingley, Joseph Dingley, Jennifer (Solomon Mosby) Abercrombie, Danielle (Jason Kral) Abercrombie, Gary (Jennifer) Muehl, Jr., Roxanne (Nathan) Brown, Suzanne (Alan) Polley, Cole and Reed Abercrombie, Tonia DeLong and Sheila Nuzum; 22 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
She is also survived by her sisters, Ruby Ramsey of Virginia; Betty Stovall of North Carolina and Alice Faye Delph of Indiana; brothers, Alva Saylor of Indiana; Bill Saylor and Junior Saylor, both of Tennessee; R.S. Saylor of Virginia and Donnie Saylor of Alabama. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, M.C. Denson; parents, Loyd and Retha (Brock) Saylor; brothers, Granville, Chester and Franklin Saylor and step-son, Michael Abercrombie.
The family would like to acknowledge Laurie Beasley for her loving care and dedication during Mildred’s illness.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the funeral home.
