Services for Myrna Isabelle (Lanning) Stroud, 94, of Willowick, will be at 11 AM on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stroud passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022 at her home.
Born December 19, 1927 in Willoughby, she was a lifelong Lake County resident.
She was avid tennis player, playing well in to her seventies; she was active with a group called Busy Fingers at a Catholic Church in Rutherfordton, NC during her retirement years before returning to Lake County. She loved music, including Pitbull and Lady A; was a huge sports fan, and especially loved Tom Brady.
Mrs. Stroud was a lifelong homemaker and after her children were on their own, she worked as the church secretary at Willoughby United Methodist Church for ten years, before retiring to North Carolina.
Survivors are her son, Richard “Randy” (Lea) Stroud; daughters, Susan (Richard) Albright, Amy Smith and Jennifer Ours; grandchildren, Todd (Annette) Tompkins, Raymond (Becky) Tompkins, Jesse (Brandi) Selby, Bradford Smith, Ashley (Rob) Baragry, Zack Smith, Stephanie (Ryan) Marker and Greg (Kim) Stroud and 12 great-grandchildren. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Helen Lanning and many nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Richard, in 2001. Her son, Gary Stroud, grandson, Bret Poklar, parents, Ralph and Ruth (Cook) Lanning, brother, Roland “Corky” Lanning and sister, Jean Alexander are also deceased.
Final resting place will be in Waite Hill Village Cemetery following the service on Thursday.
