Private family services will be held for Neal B. Hollowell, 90, of Willoughby.
The family will receive friends from 3-5, 6-8 PM on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby.
Mr. Hollowell passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021.
Born November 16, 1930 in Cleveland, he has lived in Willoughby for the past 60 years.
He was a devoted family man, loved his wife and family dearly. He was a United States Army combat veteran during the Korean Conflict from 1951 until 1953, proudly serving as a Corporal in Company F; 35th Infantry Regiment. He was awarded a Bronze Star for Bravery.
He was an avid sports fan and loved the Cleveland Indians, enjoying Spring Training in Winter Haven, FL and talking with Bob Feller. For twenty years, he played in the Willoughby Over-30 softball league and was a past president of the Ridge Acres Civic Association.
Mr. Hollowell was employed as a computer operator at the former General Motors Fisher Body Division, retiring in 1984 after 30 years of service.
Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Eileen “Pat” (Leyrer); children, Pam (Don) Stevens, Ron (Cheri) Hollowell and Larry (Crystal) Hollowell; grandchildren, Daniel Hollowell, Bethany (Matt) Rusincovitch, Gabby Hollowell, Abigail Hollowell, Maris Hollowell, Jack Hollowell and Erin Hollowell and great-granddaughter, Annika Rusincovitch. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Jessie (Rada) Hollowell and brothers, Donald and Robert Hollowell.
Final resting place will be in Willoughby Cemetery.
