Neva passed away with her loving family surrounding her on July 20, 2022. She was born in Paintsville, Kentucky on May 1, 1931.

Neva Sue's life was rooted in her faith in Jesus Christ and her love for her family. She loved her church family at Willo-Hill Baptist Church and her many friends. Her warm personality touched all she knew with so much love and generosity.

She enjoyed crocheting and did intricate work. Each member of her family is wrapped in love in their own afghan. She was an avid bowler, loved puzzles, and storytelling. She often reminisced about her wonderful childhood memories in Kentucky, near Daniel's Creek. Neva Sue had many sayings from back home, but one of her favorites was, "If the good Lord's willing and the creek don't rise."

She is survived by her devoted children, Debra Lynn (Lawrence) Jackson and Jeffrey Allen (Marilyn) Baker; loving grandchildren, Jeffrey Matthew (Chelsie) Jackson, Paula Renee (Sean) McRedmond, Amie Lynn (Keith) Jackson, Abigail Shevlin Baker, Samuel Wells Baker, and Nola Cathryn Baker. She was a proud great grandmother of Emma, Grace, Alexis, Lauren, Brynn, Ella, and Nora who called her “Gigi”, and she also loved her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Lex H. Baker in 1997; her parents Elmer Wells and Pearl Hamilton Wells; and her siblings Herman Wells, Rosemary Harmon, Elmer “Buck” Wells and Janice Adkins.

Final resting place will be in Whitehaven Memorial Park in Mayfield Village following the service Monday.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Wells Family Association. Checks should be mailed to Wells Family Association re: Scholarship c/o Karen P. Howard, 212 Spradin St. Auxier, KY 41602 or to Willo-Hill Baptist Church at https://www.willohill.com/donate/.
