Private family services have been held for Nevel S. Gilreath, Jr., 71, of Mentor.
Mr. Gilreath passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at his home.
Born November 28, 1941 in Cleveland, he was a lifelong Mentor resident.
He served in the United States Air Force nearly four years. He was an active volunteer for many years with the Christian Children’s Fund and devoted his life to preaching about the Lord.
Mr. Gilreath was employed as a machinist at the former National Acme Corporation in Cleveland, prior to his retirement.
Survivors are his children, Nevel S. (Dawn) Gilreath III of North Ridgeville, Roxanne (Jeffrey) Lesiacsek of Painesville Twp. and Dana C. (Christina) Gilreath of Mentor; grandchildren, Emily, Elizabeth, Logan, Lauren and Felicia; brother, Leander Gilreath of AZ and sisters, Leona Fredericks of FL and Blanche Kaleal of Mentor. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and their families.
His daughter, Elizabeth, passed away in 1983. His parents, Nevel S. Sr. and Blanche (Meeks) Gilreath are also deceased.
Arrangements entrusted to Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, Willoughby.
