Norma J. Tall

Memorial services for Norma J. (nee: Bortz) (Watson) Tall, 94, of Mentor, will be at
12 PM on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Advent Lutheran Church, 7985 Munson Road, Mentor.
The Rev. Rodney E. Funk will officiate at the service.

Mrs.Tall passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at her home.

Born November 3, 1922 in Greenville, PA, she was a longtime Euclid resident before moving to Wickliffe, where she lived for 25 years. She has lived in Mentor since 1993.

She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in Mentor and a former member of Mentor United Methodist Church and Euclid Lutheran Church. She was a member and past president of the American Business Women’s Association, where she was honored as a Woman of the Year. She also held memberships in the Mentor Woman’s Club, Wildwood Garden Club, Cleveland Botanical Club, Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Natural History Museum and the Order of the Eastern Star, Nottingham Chapter 269 (former Euclid City Chapter) as well as several Bridge groups.

Norma attended Thiel College in Greenville, PA and the former Fenn College in Cleveland (now Cleveland State University), and was a former Cub Scout Pack Master and advisor with Junior Achievement.

Mrs. Tall was employed as a metallographer at the Clevite Corporation (former Cleveland Graphite Bronze Corporation) from 1950 until 1965, when she joined the General Electric Corporation in research and development at the Tungsten Road plant in Euclid. She retired in 1985.

Survivors are her sons, Terry Watson and Stephen Watson; grandchildren, Michael Watson, Libby Watson, Jissell Watson and Chelsea Orr and great-grandchildren, Jordan Watson and Jacob Watson.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John E. Tall on January 3, 2008.

Private family burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
