Norman Dassel

Services for Norman R. Dassel, 65, of Eastlake, will be 7 PM Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. Mr. Dassel was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 30, 2012. Born December 31, 1946 in Cleveland, he was a longtime Willowick and Eastlake resident. His great sense of humor endeared him to all who knew him. Norman was a man of eloquent prayer and an active member of Erieside Church on the Boulevard in Willowick, where he sang in the choir and served at the City Mission in Cleveland. He was formerly involved in the nursing home ministry of the Church and participated in Sunday School. Mr. Dassel was employed at Goodwill Industries for 30 years before his retirement. He is survived by his brother, Raymond Dassel of Willoughby. His parents, Raymond L. and Margaret (Bailey) Dassel are deceased. Friends may call from 5-7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Larry A. Pozza of Erieside Church will officiate at the service. Private burial will be in Willoughby Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Erieside Church on the Boulevard, 221 East 320th Street, Willowick, OH 44095.
