Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia E. (nee: Roberts) (Russ) Swaine, 89, of Mentor, will be 10 AM Friday, May 18, 2012 at Saint Bede The Venerable Catholic Church, 9114 Lakeshore Boulevard, Mentor. Mrs. Swaine passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby, surrounded by her family. Born March 7, 1923 in Cleveland, she was a longtime Mentor resident. Patricia enjoyed being with her family, golfing, sewing, gardening, baking, crocheting and traveling with friends and family. She also spent a lot of her time volunteering as Cub Scout Den Leader, Advisor for the Mentor Busy Bees 4-H; the Western Reserve Historical Society in the Genealogy section and also at St. Bede Church for the parish newsletter, The Beacon. Mrs. Swaine worked as a secretary for many years, at B&P Spring, Ohio Water Service (Aqua Ohio), Mentor Board of Education and Euclid Products. She is survived by her loving children, Richard (Karen) Russ, Louise (Kenneth) Aldridge, Jr., Carol (Rick, deceased) Hugg and Mary (James) Davenport all of Mentor; grandchildren, Keri (Martin) Sypniewski, Kenneth Aldridge III (fiancée, Kelly), Leigh Konya (fiancé, Lloyd), Hayley, Lindsey, Hunter and Brandon Davenport; great grandmother of Morgan Konya and Spencer Sypniewski. Her first husband, Charles C. Russ passed away May 31, 1968 and her second husband, Harry P. Swaine passed away July 9, 1978. Her parents, Edwin and Loretta (Vail) Roberts and sister, Lillian Bosquette are also deceased. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Fr. Timothy J. Plavac of St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church will officiate at the Mass. Final resting place will be in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon Township.
